Self-driving cars face type approval standards hurdle Audi's new A8 may be the only series production car capable of piloting itself along highways while the driver watches the on-board TV, but it may take until the end of the decade before countries can agree on how to validate and approve its Level 3 self-driving system. Meanwhile, the majority of states have seemed eager to welcome companies to their neck of the woods with a minimum of hassle. But things are beginning to change after a handful of high-profile accidents are forcing public officials to question whether the current approach to self-driving cars is the... [Lire la suite]

Dubai's autonomous flying taxis: A reality in 2018? Autonomous flying cars may seem like an image out of a science fiction movie, but the technology already physically exists: Dubai began testing electric taxi drones in September 2017. Similar to a two-seater helicopter, the Volocopter taxi is designed for 30-minute flights to and from 'voloports,' which are basically train stations for flying taxis. But, despite the tests, experts agree: Autonomous flying taxis almost certainly won't get off the ground as a commercially... [Lire la suite]

Self-driving pods could be the future of urban transport in Greenville

Self-driving pods could be the future of urban transport in Greenville   Imagine for a moment that you push a button and a personal cab arrives to take you to your destination.
