Renault unveils its autonomous car-centric user experience

  The French manufacturer also announced at the EU summit on the vehicle without a driver it would introduce before 2020 autonomous features in its vehicles. Two years it was overdue. Can Renault-Nissan get 10 autonomous cars on the road by 2020 ? Way back in 2014, Nissan and Renault agreed to team their respective engineering departments together to help reduce redundancy; so far, the partnership’s claim to fame is the 300,000 EVs the brand has sold globally. The next goal may be more challenging: Renault and Nissan will work together to produce a whopping ten models with autonomous driving capability, with a goal of eliminating the 90 percent of fatal accidents caused by driver error. ... Ghosn said that Renault Nissan will introduce autonomous cars to their top line of vehicles in 2016.

Renault is testing autonomous vehicle technology

  Speaking at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Mr. Ghosn said that Renault could launch in 2016 versionsof these vehicles can handle driving in traffic. He added that the group planned to offer automotive technology more and more advanced in the next five years, with the aim to propose in 2020 a vehicle used on any type of road.
