OpenXC: The platform that drives Ford on the connected car

Non-production and open-source designed to attract the best developers to create projects using the data of vehicles in real-time hardware and software platform, OpenXC program provides access to more than 15 data types. Connected car: Volvo and Mercedes postpone to 2015 the integration of Apple Carplay

Announced for the end of the year, Apple embedded system will not be available until 2015 on Volvo and Mercedes models. Among the manufacturers which were also committed to providing the Carplay first, only Hyundai confirms to provide an update with this system on its Sonata by late 2014. In the race connected car race Apple could be then overtaken by Google, which had also announced that its Android Auto would be available for the end of 2014.
