2017 Technology Trends

2017 Technology Trends The haves are breaking away from the have-nots. The trends and innovations that will shape the technology industry over the next several years came into sharper focus in 2016. Cloud computing has gone mainstream for many enterprises, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is changing how both industrial and consumer-oriented companies do business. Drones and autonomous vehicles, blockchain, augmented and virtual reality, increasingly sophisticated digital assistants, machine learning (artificial intelligence, or AI)... [Lire la suite]

Microsoft launches a new cloud platform for connected cars

Microsoft launches a new cloud platform for connected cars Microsoft isn’t building its own connected car — but it is launching a new Azure-based cloud platform for car manufacturers that want to use the cloud to power their own connected-car services. Automakers choose Microsoft as connected car partner

Automakers choose Microsoft as connected car partner When Microsoft talks about mobility, our interest is the mobility of the person, not of any single device. After all, people now want their technology experience to move with them, from place to place and device to device, at home, at work, and on the move. Nowhere is this more evident than in today’s connected cars. People expect their car’s computing power to match its horsepower. And automakers are leading the way, bringing mobility solutions to their cars to meet drivers’... [Lire la suite]

Autonomous cars can only understand the real world through a map

Autonomous cars can only understand the real world through a map In the second of our series ‘3 steps to automation’, we look at the need for a precise and trustworthy map that can be ‘read’ by the car. As we’ve seen in the first in the series, however numerous and multifarious, sensors do not make for automated cars alone. This is why HERE is developing an automated driving cloud that can work in conjunction with sensors to create bona fide self-driving cars. One aspect of this is the creation of ultra-precise, high definition...
